New York always holds a special place in my heart.  Not just because it’s awesome, but also because I proposed to my wife there right under the big Christmas tree in Rockefeller center some 9 or so years ago. While I had some downtime, I decided to walk a few blocks from my hotel, listen to“The Most Beautiful Songs in the World” Spotify playlist and visit that oh so memorable spot where i proposed to my wife in Rockefeller Center.  So there was some nostalgia strolling through Manhattan exploring familiar places like Central Park, Time Square, and finding new places while filming this project.

All that aside, getting to fly out to Manhattan to film Nicky Laatz for Creative Market was such an honor.  Nicky is a designer who makes fonts that are used by… well… everyone!  Starbucks even uses some of her fonts!  So when Creative Market contracted me to film her story out in Manhattan, of course I had to accept.

Getting to hear her story was incredibly inspirational.  Through failures, challenges, and push back, she rose above and was able to chase her passion with design while be able to focus on what seems to be the most important thing to her… family.  You can see more of her story as well as her crazy awesome fonts at Creative Market.
